Dealing with Loss
On Sunday February 12th, I lost my father.
The details of his passing will be omitted, because I feel like those that needed to know do know.
I come home expecting my dad to be at his computer doing his usual business, or watching something on Netflix that he’s going to tell me I need to watch.
Now when I get home, I feel like the house is missing a very important piece.
I have my father to thank for everything I have, and everything that I am. As we went through his stuff I realized that my dad was a “nerd” of his generation. HAM radio licenses, computer manuals and all kinds of toys and collectibles.
My dad bought our very first home computer when we were young, and was always enthusiastic to show us how to use them. Myles and I always had a passion to learn about how computers worked and how people made all of the different things they did on a computer.
In the end I have my dad to thank for everything that I am, and I am truly appreciative for the time and love he supplied us with growing up.
I’ll forever miss my dad, and hope that one day I will be reunited with him in the afterlife.
